Static-X

What are your plans for Labor Day weekend? Hopefully, you have some of the traditional things lined up, maybe a cook out with family and friends to properly put the wraps on summer 2007. Perhaps your plans include an out of town jaunt for a little change of pace and scenery. Well, we at ROCKLINE and our friends in Static X have decided to put some labor into this end of summer ritual. And whether you’re staying at home or will be on the road, we have the perfect conclusion for you to this long weekend. Put the final touches on your celebration by joining us for Static X in concert! We will still allow some time for you to talk with the band, including their just announced new tour schedule, but we have also blocked out about 45 minutes of the show for the guys to plug in and play as fast and loud as you expect them to. Full concert dates for their upcoming tour with Shadows Fall are at www.Static-X.com

But one of the biggest shows they will play, no doubt, will be the one for you, the ROCKLINE listener at the largest venue of all, the Internet. The band’s current and most revered line up, featuring Wayne Static, Tony Campos, Nick Oshiro and original guitarist Koichi Fukuda, will commandeer the ROCKLINE studio and perform a scorching three quarters of an hour long set with all the old favorites and a healthy sampling of new songs from “Cannibal”, their best album in several years. This show promises to deliver it all: a chance to talk with the band, an incredible live set and a perfect way to end a great American holiday! They last joined us on May 21st of this year and we extended an invitation to come back and play live. They took us up on the offer and we have been counting the days since and now it’s just around the corner.

Join us for our next show, an extra special ROCKLINE with Static X taking your calls and playing live too!

Joe Lynn Turner

Joe Lynn Turner has his sights set solely on creating and performing his music, so he’s not concerned at all with what the ROCKLINE perception of things might be. We’ll get to that in a moment. His new album, “Second Hand Life”, was briefly previewed on Joe’s recent appearance last July 11th   on ROCKLINE with the charitable organization Classic Rock Cares, featuring his mates Steve Luongo, Brian Johnson, Cliff Williams, Mark Farner and more and that exposure resulted in a spike in Internet sales of the title track immediately after the show. The song, which has been available on iTunes, is now available at any and all places where music is sold, along with the entire album. That spike in sales did not surprise us at all. What surprises, and honestly infuriates us at the show, is that the rest of the world seems to know something that much of America has forgotten. Namely that JLT makes some of the best music around and possesses one of the best voices in Rock, ever. Joe could sing the menu at a Jersey deli and draw a crowd. Include the passionate and memorable melodies on his new CD and our consternation increases. Why isn’t this man on every Rock format in America? We looked up the word enigma, just to be 100% sure, and there it is, “Something that baffles understanding and cannot be explained”.

So, we have decided to do our part and bring the enigmatic Joe Lynn Turner to ROCKLINE for a show of his own. This way, we can give this killer new CD some well deserved airplay. In addition, Turner has agreed to bring his friend, guitarist Howie Simon, to perform an acoustic set as well. This will cover all the bases. You can join Joe on the air and ask him that burning question you always wanted to know about, hear some of the brand new album and listen to him play live too. Actually, 90 minutes may not be enough, but we’ll make do. Learn about all things Joe Lynn at his websites www.JoeLynnTurner.com or at  www.MySpace.com/JoeLynnTurner  We decided to get the literal definition of another word too as long as we had the dictionary out, Solution: “A statement that solves a problem or explains how to solve the problem”.

We are soooo pleased to be a part of the solution concerning the enigma that surrounds such a huge talent. We’re just trying to be part of the solution and not perpetuate a problem. Join us for the incomparable Joe Lynn Turner on the next ROCKLINE!
